From the sound of things TC15 was looking good yesterday too, hitting guys in stride and getting the ball out quickly. Colt meanwhile didn't get a ton of work and was a little off at first but settled down eventually.
I too think a veteran has to be in the mix. Going with Pineapple Jesus as your primary backup is just too risky.
