The big thing about Lavar is that when he is in there, the offense HAS to account for him. Call it hype if you want, but it's true. Williams at the beginning of the season said that Lavar would be lining up at all different positions to confuse them, so they wouldn't know where he was coming from, or where he was going (pass rushing or in coverage). I don't see him changing that at all. LA will be lined up at LB, DE, the other LB side, and maybe even at a safety position on occasion. The big thing about this is that he can be used as a decoy...let the offense worry about accounting for him and send in someone else to blitz ala Bowen, Springs, etc.
If we really want a pass-rushing DE, draft one or pick up a young (cheap) FA that Williams can mold.
