A couple of notes here:

1. Since Danny Boy still owns the team - unless I mssed a memo recently - what makes you think Joe Gibbs will name the next coach? All of a sudden, Danny will cede that authority to him even when Gibbs is gone? I have my doubts...

2. Everyone here seems to be 100% certain that Gregg Williams would be a great successor to Gibbs. Maybe he will - but maybe not. Williams was mediocre in Buffalo at best. He left and the team got a lot better in one season. Hmmm...

3. The Joe Gibbs list of assistant coaches who have gone on to glory as head coaches eslewhere is pretty short - maybe even a blank piece of paper? Joe Bugel stunk out the joint in Arizona and Oakland. Jim Hanifan? Cam Cameron back in college? Richie Pettibon? So how does this guarantee glory and success for the Skins under Gregg Williams?

4. The OL this year was not good. A lot of that had to do with Jansen's injury, but they were not good. You can put lipstick on a pig and pretend it's beautiful, but it's still a pig. The OL wasn't very good this year.

Dockery improved over last year but he still has a LONG way to go to be above average.

Raymer is done.

Brown is a back-up at best.

Remember Vaughn Parker was going to be the answer and then he could not get himself into playing shape by the end of the year.

Samuels improved but is still not an elite OT.

Randy Thomas was the stellar performer on the OL; Sameuls was adequate and everyone else was sub-standard.

Bugel had only one year with these guys so I'll give him a pass for this year. But next year, there needs to be some significant improvments here.
