Nope, but call them out when they make mistakes and say they have ways to go - don't blindly praise them for the sake of encouragement.
I discovered that Parcells quote - asked about Terry Glenns performance in a game once, Parcells said, "yes, she had a rough day today". What did it do to Terry Glenns confidence and the team chemistry - Glenn went on to set the rookie record for catches that year!
Ok, not everyone can coach "tough love" style, and not every player reacts to it well, but calling Samuels and Dockery "special" isn't ok either, IMHO. Buges is known for chewing out linemen for blown protections/blocks...it just seems that he's gone a bit soft in this stint. Now, calling Randy Thomas something special is fine with me.
