Truth be told, members of Congress rarely read bills in their entirety anyway. Often times they vote on bills for selfish reasons; pork, special projects, or ammendments they've added. But more often than not, they really don't read these bills. That's what staffers are for. The various committees through which the bills are moving are usually where the bills are crafted, read, and understood.
So I find it funny that Leader John Boehner stacks up a 2,000 page prop during a press conference claiming no one knows what's in the bill yet. Really? They pulled the same crap with the stimulus bill.
