You seem to think Betts has not been the starter because of preferential treatment for Portis? Betts fumbled his behind to the bench, and you know it.

I think all the guys on offense earned their jobs, but one thing i feel from this team, is that once somebody gets a spot, it is theres for the duration. For example, Campbell has always been the unchallenged QB, no matter what. No matter how bad he plays. Even Joe Gibbs knew to stick with Collins because he was the hot hand, even though Campbell had recovered from his injury for the playoffs.
Now Portis won't lose his job to injury, but really, Betts has outplayed him at this point. He deserves to finish the year. A 3-6 team that is going nowhere should at least get to play everyone so that they can see what they have roster wise.
We won't do that. It really is a sad state when injuries are the only way you get to see depth at a position. For Example; Campbell would have cost us the season in 2007 had it not be for his injury and then Todd Collins coming in.
in 2006 Portis got injured and Betts rattled off five 100+ yard games. This year is the same way.
I just hope after this year that everyone has to battle for a job...not just become an anointed starter.
