Rock, Ummm, no again. I thank him also for his participation no matter how small it is, but utilizing him as a full time RB? I don't see it panning out. He runs more East/West usually. I will give him his props though also. Lately he has run more North/South and has looked good carrying the ball when Betts is blocking for him.

I heard Ganther actually looked good Sat. I didn't see him but I was told he trucked two people carrying the ball. Maybe we should keep him and can the rest in the off season and pick up another RB to be the power back.
It's not that Rock isn't piling up the stats like Betts or Portis, he's a great role player. He gives us a fresh set of legs and changes the pace. It's just a different look that defenses have to account for. No, Rock won't break it for 80 yards but he's a bit of a bruiser and that matters late in the game. Ask Denver's defensive line.

It's not who's better or who's more deserving or any of that. It's about overall production and providing some much needed balance. Whenever Portis is in the game our offense suddenly becomes vanilla and predictable. We just don't seem to be as diverse when Clinton is in the backfield. I don't care how talented you are, nowadays defenses are just too quick to the ball to overcome that.

If Betts/Rock combo can churn out a buck thirty to a buck fifty a game, I'll take that all day long.
