You don't throw away production like this from a guy with no off-field issues just casue he's an ass. You whip him into shape, get him motivated and get him on the field.

You forget that a player has to
want to do all these things. Portis cannot be apprehended and forced into the training room. Ultimately it's all up to him. He hasn't wanted to do things recently and it shows.
Running backs don't last forever either. This season will mark his ninth year in the league. He's already past the usual shelf life of RBs in this league.
