Comment: As a rookie in 2008, Lichtensteiger saw action in all 16 games but did not start any. He has adequate size for the position with above average initial quickness, agility and balance. He understands blocking angles and does a good job of getting a fit with his hands to control opponents. He is a good knee bender who can keep his pad level down and leverage his blocks but lacks the bulk and strength to knock people off the line. He can be bull rushed by bigger defensive tackles and will find better success when he is uncovered and can help the guards to either side.
