Oh yeah and he's 28 years old, so he's not nearly as old as guys like bruce smith, deion sanders, jason taylor, etc that we have brought in from the past as FA's.

Yeah man I don't mean to say Dansby would be a bad move. He's an upgrade over Rocky. My thinking is he's not a huge upgrade and we've got serious needs elsewhere. Realistically we get just 2 starters from the draft (I hope starting book-end tackles) and maybe a third in a gem RB Shanny develops. All the other needs then have to be addressed in FA.
...personally I think FS is a far greater need than LB this off-season. Landry makes a terrible last line of defense and I doubt Moore can be that guy right now. Some think Berry might fall to us so I guess that would/could fix the FS issue; however I still think a franchise LT is a better value @ 4.
...and if Haslett really does go to a 3-4 regularly we have to make changes on the DL. Basically nothing fits based on the current roster unless we get lucky w/ some guys developing fast. Big Monty hasn't shown shit to be a dominant nose tackle. Unless Jarmon or Lorenzo becomes a stud overnight we don't have a LDE in the 3-4. Finally who knows how Phat Al will respond to a new scheme. I never saw the wisdom in going 3-4 because it potentially requires a lot of roster changes to the defense, when our offense is one of the weakest in the league and needs an infusion of talent regardless of scheme. Shanny/Allen's moves on Haslett and the defense have me worried.
