these ice bergs breakin off not only cause problems with the current of the ocean (which effects everything) but whole populations/species of penguins, etc end up dying because their generations old migration routes are all screwed up and they are left isolated and starving.

i watched a show where a biologist type guy would visit these same type of penguins every year during teh time when the weather would allow.every year, when he would get there the thousands of penguins would be grazing on a certain shore.

one year he heard about major ice bergs breaking off, i think an earthquake as well. when he went back there where no penguins on a shore where there should have been thousands. he goes inland to find them, finds that the landscape had changed, found hundreds of dead or dying penguins trapped half way thru their migration route.

he did not intervene, a whole species of penguin who had lived there for as long as time where wiped off the planet due to climate changes.
