If we do sign Dansby, it seems like the idea there would be that the long term contract we are giving him would be the long term deal that McIntosh should get.

On principle, I am against this. But in reality, Dansby is a better anchor on the interior than McIntosh will be, and great 3-4 ILBs are always in high demand. It would not be a bad move.
