There's nothing preventing us from doing what you are suggesting, but there's really no reason to sign Dansby unless it's determined that McIntosh is an inferior player. I think his tender offer suggests such a conclusion.
I imagine the guy who replaces Fletcher in the defense will be Blades or someone younger than Blades. I don't like the idea of having two ILBs around the same age and experience level, because if they happen to decline at the same time, you have a gaping hole in the middle of your defense at a position that won't really show up on film to be discovered.
