Not true really. He probably is better with his hand on the ground, but he still has impressive numbers from the first half of last year, and proved he could make it as a 3-4 OLB.
I think the Packers are letting him hit the market because 1) he's coming off a major knee injury, and 2) they were just fine defensively without him last year.
That's a combination that makes it tough for the Packers to justify a long term deal there. That is a big red flag on him, but if he's healthy, he's got 2-3 more years as a top end pass rusher in this league.
He's a good alternative to Peppers in a 3-4 defense, but unlike Peppers, HE himself might want to avoid signing with a team to play the 3-4.
