This just doesnt seem to work every year they try this same old crap of giving up draft picks. Maybe Jarmon can start at DE in the 3-4 defense. We look like we just wasted a 3rd pick on him if he can not play in the 3-4 defense.

What makes you think this? I really am curious why you think our FO would expect that type of compensation. What precedent is there that a team would send a top 3 pick in the first round for a locker room cancer? Granted, Al is talented, arguably the most talented defensive tackle in the league, but he is a huge pain in the ass. I have argued that no team would give us any first round pick for him, let alone a top 3 pick.
I know we fleeced Carolina for Sean Gilbert but the league has changed dramatically since then. If a GM sent us a top 3 pick, they are putting their job on the line for a guy who doesn't give a crap what his coaches want.
For the record, I still want him on the team. I think if you are paying a coach 7.5 million he can figure out a solution with your problem child but I certainly understand where Shanahan is coming from on this.
