Yup. And quite frankly, I just don't know that a flat tax would work or what percentage would be necessary to fund even a stripped down government. I would suggest that a straight flat tax with no gradation for income would simply be insufficient to fund such a government OR be so brutal (hand over 40% of your gross income) as to unpassable.
Mind, you I don't necessarily oppose the thought of a flat tax. Just wondering how it would look in real numbers.
