okay i searched/found this old thread instead of starting a new "what do y'all think of JoeyT" thread.

even though he won a SB as a redskin, i hate him. he sucks and he loves to hear himself talk. okay fine, most broadcasters can be chatterboxes, it's their job to fill time by talking. but joe just comes off as a know-it-all jerk who doesn't hesitate to take cheapshots and/or INJECT HIMSELF INTO THE STORY, which is the worst. "when i played..." "well what WE used to do..." "when i played for joe gibbs..."
that's fine occasionally in very specific situations.... but even the hated cowboys (Djohnston and Troy) rarely/never do it. moose is much better than troy, but neither brings up their glory days.

here's what reminded me:

i watched that 30 for 30 doc about Ricky last night. great stuff. he's out there, but i like him and glad he's done well.

but how 'bout Joe Theismann's over-the-top comments about Ricky Williams? i know the guy is kooky and made some stupid decisions as far as failing multiple drug tests... but JoeyT (in footage from when ricky played in canada) was like THIS GUY IS A DESPICABLE HUMAN BEING AND I"M ASHAMED TO BE IN THE SAME SENTENCE WITH HIM AS FOOTBALL PLAYER AND A TORONTO ARGONAUT" and all this stuff. just ridiculous blowhard hyperbole from up on some high horse. shut the fuck up already. i'd like Lawrence Taylor to go rip his fuckin voicebox out (speaking of ridiculous hyperbole).
