Agree 100% with the bolded point. But we do have the right (and law enforcement has the responsibility) to ask for immigration status in the event someone has broken the law. The AZ law is to do away with the "sanctuary city" model, not to stop a father taking his kids to get ice cream and ask for papers.

Two teenage girls died a couple of years ago in Va Beach because of non-enforcement of immigration laws and I'm sure many other cities have similar stories.
