Someone tried this scare tactic earlier, but scientists from Florida University and even people from the Coast Guard have disputed this. The NOAA doesnt see the spill taking this path. For one thing, the current does not move that quickly, and secondly, judging by current maps of the so called "loop current", the current begins to pull eastward after it gets around Miami, and this would pull oil towards europe, not towards the northeastern US. Too many people have already disputed this map. Nothing more than media scare mongering.
For this to even be a possibility, the flow would have to go uncontained for at least 3 more months.....but.....but this is BP we are talking about.....oh shit
