I don't think Chris Samuels sees it that way. He's got 15 million reasons to think otherwise.
Promising big money and paying what a player thinks he's worth are two different animals. The Skins offered Pierce and Smoot generous signing bonuses, but other teams were able to offer more salary in the first three years of the contract.
Now if you're talking about LaVar Arrington's situation, there's the little issue of Arrington and his agents signing a contract that made him the second-highest paid linebacker in the league-- even
without that extra $6.5 million he thought he heard someone mention.
And I think Champ Bailey's contract demands and subsequent performance on the field in Denver speaks for itself. There's a reason folks in Denver are already calling him "Chump"-- Pro Bowler or not.
