Re: Report: Redskins are pursuing Vincent Jackson
Gus, I think you used a terrible analogy. I think a GM and HC have a far greater chance of changing around a bad team quicker vs. a new President and a few new Congressmen. Not only is the President working with a far greater debt he has to satisfy other people to agree with him and vote in his policies. A new GM can hire whatever coach he wants, whatever coaching staff he wants, whatever scouting department he wants, and whatever players he thinks he needs with in reason. Yes the owner does write the checks so that is why I said within reason. But with someone like DS who is willing to spend.... Allen and Shanny have a far better chance of changing things at Redskins Park vs. Obama and Congress. Imagine if Allen had to run everything through a group of people who had to vote on whether anything he presented was a good course of action. The Skins would never change.
You would have better off using an anology of a business owner. He can fire all his employees and hire a whole new staff but the business will still continue to be crappy and not succeed if the owner does not change his goals or business plan. Otherwise he gets the same product out of different management and employees.
