Re: Redskin Wideouts to join McNabb in Arizona for "hell week"

Turning back the clock....1999? I loved the 90's, I was much younger and come to think of it takes me back to that beautiful day of Jan.26/92 when THE HOGS (Thanks, Jim, Stink and Russ) and Big Mark Rypien did there job vs.those Bills in SB XXVI. Lets get ready for this train to roll!

McNabb is gonna train like it's 1999

Two days before the Redskins begin training camp, quarterback Donovan McNabb says he's not concerned about his contract and says he hasn't felt similar anticipation for a camp since his rookie season in 1999.

"There's definitely an excitement. There's a vibe that's going on right now," McNabb said. "It's not just at Redskins Park. It's in the D.C. area. I think everyone is anticipating this year and the kickoff. Everybody is looking forward to great things happening, and the team is looking for great things to happen."

McNabb appeared at a Borders bookstore in Washington for a half hour Tuesday afternoon to sign copies of "NFL Dads Dedicated to Daughters: Inspiring Personal Accounts on Fatherhood." He spoke briefly with reporters prior to meeting a long line of fans.

He touched on a few other topics. Among them:

His contract, which runs out at the end of this season. Both sides have expressed interest in an extension that would keep McNabb in burgundy and gold for several more years: "We look forward to being able to sit down and talk about that. That will happen, maybe sooner than later. The thing about it is, at this particular point, I truly don't focus on it. ...For me, it's just focusing in on the field and getting these guys ready..."

"I've never been in that situation before. For me to sit here and say it's not tough, it's a tough answer to give. But I'll try. Put it that way, I'll try. The thing about it, again, it's me stepping out on the field. A new chapter in my book, new situation, new challenge. I look forward to it."

On "Hell Week" last week with fellow offensive teammates: "It was truly big for us. It was something that we'll benefit from, I think, toward mid-season, toward the end of the year. I think for us coming into camp having an upper-hand a little bit."

On texting Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb: "I try to inspire young players, to just continue to keep their head up, write goals for yourself that are attainable and for them to just have confidence in themselves. For me, it could've been easier for me to walk out the door and not said anything to anyone. But that's not the type of person I am. I'm a guy who cares. I've text-messaged Kevin and...several of my former offensive linemen and the list goes. The thing about 11 years is [it's] something you can't just forget."
