If we developed a young guy that can be a great long snapper and also in a pinch fill in at center or guard, would create more depth. Something we lacked for the last 10 years.
I don't know if Red Snapper could play on the o-line or not?
On a separate note:
3rd string Eric Cook the rookie center broke his right wrist during the final week of training camp in 2007 (New Mexico), and taught himself to snap with his left hand the rest of the season when he played center. Tough guy.
2nd string Center Kory Lichtensteiger: was named a finalist for the Rimington Trophy (nation’s best center) and a first-team all-conference choice as a senior. Posted the highest blocking consistency (85.6 percent) of any center in the country during his time at Bowling Green State according to NFLDraftScout.com.
You throw in Edwin Williams and it looks like we have some decent talent on the bench....for once.
