When you consider that Jonas Jennings just got 6 years and $36 million or something crazy like that, Samuels' deal doesn't seem so bad. Walter Jones was the first domino to fall and he definitely drove the market price for LTs up. I wish the Redskins' front office had committed to Samuels back in January before Jones got his deal, because once the Seahawks signed him Samuels and his agent Sexton started asking for a lot more money, and they got it.

It's obvious though that the price for left tackles is going up big time, and I'll bet maybe as early as next year Samuels will seem like a bargain. When it comes right down to it, we really did have to pay the price. If we're going to have Ramsey turning his back to the D running play-action passes, we're REALLY going to need solid tackles. Samuels was a must, even though he was expensive. There was no choice.

And thank God for Jon Jansen's return.
