So it's been a huge failure then??
We've lost talented players before, Bailey last year for example, and the team plugged someone else in and moved on.
The sky isn't falling because we're taking a different approach.
Last season we seemd to have a different defensive lineup every week, and they never missed a beat. So will the defense fall apart without Pierce and Smoot?? I highly doubt it.
Losing players, especially fan favorites like Smoot isn't fun, but if you step back and take the emotion out of it, I think you'll see losing Smoot isn't going to break the team. And it certainly isn't making the offseason a complete disaster in my opinion.
