Alright, let me break it down so even a Giant's fan can follow along. The head coach is the face of the team. Obviously, Shanahan has a problem with Haynesworth. You still with me? So instead of trading him during the draft, Shanahan decided that he was going to keep him on the team. So week after week, day after day, Haynesworth becomes the lead story because Shanahan has to play some games to show who's boss (he did this at Denver too, you probably don't remember this and will ask me to look up examples). So we finally get to the end of the pre-season and guys like Vonnie Holliday don't have to dress but the best D-lineman on the team has to play 49 of 55 plays against bread truck drivers. Then the team rips him to the local paper (which happened several times in the offseason). This right before the one of the biggest games of the year.
The leader of the team, Shanahan, has been in control this whole time and this situation is out of control. This whole week we should be pumped about Dallas but instead we get to think about Golston and Ma'ake getting pushed around the field while Al is sipping gatorade.
