The negativity is due to over a decade of promising seasons going down the drain. To be honest, the kool aid folks help set the tone. You get a ton of hurrahs and SB dreams every preseason that is full of optimism due to a new regime, players, etc, and of course this season is going to be different stuff. I mean come on, this team has been a tremendous tease with all the changes and flashes of being an excellent team even in losing seasons, only to let us all down. ANd yeah, I am glad we won, and will take a W anyway we can, but you have to admit this game for both teams was really ugly offensively. When your hotshot probowl QB ends up with a 60 QB rating, it wasn't a productive day.

There is a lot of truth in this. They pumped the beginning of the season up to unbelievable levels then we choke against the Texans and get sodomized by another rookie Qb. The FO has created a ridiculous expectations consistently.
