No, we drafted with a strange emphasis on skill positions and late-round LBs and safeties. We also drafted for "need" because "big #1 WR" was a need then. Remember that James ****ing Thrash was our #3 behind the terribly overpaid ARE.
Also, we didn't spend 4 1st and 2nd rounders on the hogs. Some of them came through UDFA, but I suppose it was an era where scouting the really late rounds was considered "not worth it", so talent was more likely to fall then.
