That scenario does not make sense actually.
The owners voted unanimously in 2008 to opt out of the current CBA, which means they cannot "extend" the current CBA.
They have to agree on a new CBA before March 5th. If not, there is no free agency signing period, no trades of veterans. The only thing that will happen is the draft.
