Well, McNabb has played longer than Palmer, so it's not really a great comparison. Palmer's peak was higher, but unless Palmer remains productive through roughly 2014, McNabb has the better career.
Yes, Palmer has been worth the number one pick. If Cinci thinks he's not worth the contract, they can release him now, but I don't think they're all that close to winning with or without Palmer.
