He's going to get the chance to prove he can start." Why tell your trading partners/sports agents that their product is more in demand? That just drives up the asking price. I think Shannahan is basically bluffing saying that he's "not interested but make us an offer anyway."

But that's just me making things more difficult than what they really are.
