1. Denver seems pretty desperate to get rid of him and if no one is willing to trade for him for what Denver wants (especially if most of the higher potential trading places have gotten someone else) his price might come down. It's all supply and demand.
2. I am not saying that if Orton came here he would be the day one starter. I know he would be behind the curve learning the playbook compared to Rex and Beck. And if there is a competition in camp and he doesn't start at the beginning of the season so be it. But at least you would have a competent QB who you know how has a record of good numbers.
And when Rex has a breakdown game and throws 5 INT, and you don't know how Beck will respond because he doesn't have a lot of game experience, maybe by that time Orton will have a good grasp of the playbook and he will step in nicely. The system he runs in Denver isn't that different, there are similarities. That is all I'm saying.
