Keep in mind, that he is kicking the ball from approx 65 metres (70-75yards) The red markings on the ground are the 50metre arc and he is a fair way behind that. Also, the type of kick does not travel as far as a spiral (or what we call a torpedo).. He can kick 80+ yards...
As for the tackle, not surprised as our game is built on hard hits, and everyone is taught to tackle from a young age..(unlike most punters)
Also, his younger brother Anthony retired from AFL a couple of years ago and is a better kick than Sav.. |
