You're assuming that football players are immutable in their physical attributes and thus come package "as-is" right from the get-go.
The whole point of coaching is to teach players techniques and habits that make them play better. No QB is
unable to make
slight tweaks to how he throws the football. It is only a matter of
willingness. If a player isn't willing to follow
sound coaching, then he is uncoachable.
No one thought Donovan McNabb of as an uncoachable player. THAT is why coaches are dissatified with him. They try to do their job, and he doesn't want to listen.
