You are telling me that the "much heralded" Rex Ryan defense could not even stop the spread option? Or stop a QB whose accuracy is so bad that if he we're throwing from a boat he couldn't hit water?

My point is, there's a lot more wrong with the Jets then just the slow development (or dare I say, REGRESSION) of Sanchez. They are a team that has played in the last 2 conference championship games. The defense allowing a 95 yard drive in the final 2 minutes of a game is inexcusable.

That "much heralded" defense is "much overrated". THAT has been the reason why I think the Jets have been a average team this year, and it's not because of their QB play (which is lacking). It's been their defense. That defense the past two years is nothing like the defense that is currently on the field. Losing Shaun Ellis was huge, and his production hasn't been replaced yet. They are giving up a average of 117 yards rushing per game with a 4.0 average per carry. That's not a good defense.
