Yeah TO has the effect of opening up the field. He tends to draw double-teams from safeties, leaving the middle of the field pretty open. LJ Smith showed enough speed this year to threaten that deep-middle part of the field, and hence McNabb had more space to throw into than in years past. Plus, Westbrook has given them a pretty electric receiving option out of the backfield.

In general, their weapons around McNabb were upgraded, so his increase in numbers has to be partially due to his improved teammates.

But you could make the case that McNabb has made the pro bowl several times in his career DESPITE having horrible weapons around him (before last year that is). Now he's just showing what he can do with good talent, and the numbers are pretty sick. It's a testament to his abilities.
