I kinda agree with you here. I, too, think Rak is overrated and Cofield has been a bit underwhelming but by no means has he been a bust.
On the whole, I think we have more pieces than not. Right now we're ranked 13th in total defense and quite frankly, I'd take the Skins defense over the defenses ranked 12-10. My point is, I don't think we're that far off.
One thing people tend to
not take into consideration when grading the Redskins defense, we have an absolute turnover machine in Rex Grossman, which tends to favor the opponent in time of possession and/or starting field position.
