WE on the other hand, don't have all the pieces set. We are severely lacking in areas and if we blow our picks for a QB who may bust, then we will be set back years. However, if we maintain patience and continue to build, we can build this team into a contender while grooming a QB (noles/tannehill).
Throwing your picks (this year and next) away for the "chance" at a franchise QB isn't smart unless you have it all in place. We don't, which is why you can't compare us to the Giants doing this.
Also, Brees was a 2nd rounder.

No team EVER has "all the pieces set." And a franchise QB makes all of your pieces look better. For example, both the Giants and Pats would be middling teams at best without stud QB's.
A big-time QB is worth the price.
