If tagged this year Brees would get 16 mil and change. If it is true he wants 25 mil a year it would actually be prudent for the Saints to franchise him the next three years at 120% of the previous year's salary. Instead of 23-25 mil per year the Saints could guarantee they would have him at 16, 18 and 20 mil and change the next three years. At which time he would be 36 and most likely headed for a decline in his playing ability.
