I actually think the opposite. Smoot is playing on a team with a high-scoring offense. That means that the offenses Smoot will be playing against are going to be passing the ball often. Smoot will likely get lit up fairly often. I like Smoot, but I think he's overrated (in Madden terms I'd put him somewhere around 88-89).
