It was ATLs gameplan to kill the clock and keep RGIII on the sidelines. ATL knew the big play was there for the taking but, instead used a ball control offense to limit the Skins touches. RGIII attempted less than 20 passes. Ryan attempted over 50. Consequently, the game was close. Skins settled for not opening up the passing attack on first and second downs. Take that in consieration that they've been terrible on 3rd down all year. I said it before and maybe I cannot express it the best way but, the Skins showed their hand operating out of the I-formation so much. RGIII is handcuffed not operating out of the spread formations.
