With the way Brunell's contract is structured, it was only meant to be a 2-3 year deal anyway. His base salary jumps to $5.5M in 2006, still manageable, but in 07 it's $6.6M.

I think for mainly cap reasons he's a post June 1 cut next year.

Unless he's starting by then they can't continue to pay a backup so much $$.
