FWIW, Campbell's statement regarding the doctors clearing him was more of his opinion/reading between the lines based on things he'd heard as opposed to a definative statement of a source on record. Still, the guy seems pretty tuned into things generally.
He did definitavely statedthat the coaches were not pleased with Griffins perforance in practice last weekas he lacked his normal mobility and was very tentative when planting his foot.
He also said Griffin was very upset about not playing because all season, not just because he felt he could play, but because all season he's been surrounded by veterans who have toughed it out and played through worse injuries. He respects London Fletcher and Trent Williams, and, as a leader of the team, wanted to show his team mates he was just as tough as those guys.
Personally, i think Griffin could have played Sunday and would have been mobile, despite the pain. In hindsight, we can all be glad he didnt play, because we won the game and he's had extra time to heal. While i think the hits RGIII takes now will come back to bite him later in the year, i dont think anyone doubts that RGIII would play through pain - and at a high level - if he had to.
