From his his wikipedia webpage:
Marc Trestman - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
That list is a joke - I actually laughed out loud at my desk. Trestman takes bad quarterbacks and teaches them a few parlor tricks so they look deceptively good at their pro-days. Then, NFL teams spend high draft picks on these guys and they go on to become colossal busts. Trestman = Snake Oil.
I do agree with your thought that he "deserves a shot" - as opposed to others here who seem to think the Bears made some sort of great hire. Hey, everyone deserves a shot, right? Still, the Bears fired Lovie Smith for this guy, and I view that as a major downgrade.

How about Kosar, Gannon, Plummer, and Scott Mitchell( for his one huge year) ?
Edit: as Arizona OC they went to the playoffs for the first time since 1982, and look at what he did in 2002 with Oakland as their OC. Everywhere the guy goes there is success and offensive records are broken. He won a bowl game with NC State as their OC.
This is a great hire.
Edit: also BHA that list is a list of guys he prepared for the draft. Prepped for the combines. So - the fact that they were pretty much busts as first round picks sort of speaks to his genius. I mean somehow he made them look goid enough for teams to buy in. He was not their coach. Look at the QB's he coached. Seems to me that when he is around a qb they shine. Whether for the combine or for the season.
