If he did lie about her death to gain sympathy, it's a pretty douche bag thing to do and maybe karma bites him in the ass one day.
As far as the Heisman, there wasn't any stopping the Johnny Football train. Last I checked, they don't give out sympathy votes for the Heisman. If it was a plan, it was a bad one.

Ive read all about it and i am still floored by this. It is becoming increasingly difficult to believe he was so naive. I think he believed at first she was real, and somewhere along the line things went out of control.
