Also, anytime a coach says one of his current players is his favorite professional athlete you know he is schemeing all kinds of blitz packages to feature him. If Taylor doesn't have a great year it won't be for lack of opportunities. It would have been a lot easier for Williams to say his favorite athlete is "Marcus Washington" or "Sean Springs," both amazing athletes and team players. It could also be that part of it is to boost Taylor's morale, but somehow I doubt that.
Didn't see the interview. but I agree with your assessment. I think it runs counter to the notion that Taylor isn't very coachable. After all, his coach seems to like him just fine.
