These are just minor advantages, but perhaps just enough to give a little incentive to the teams/players.

I hate the idea of giving bigger meaning to an otherwise totally meaningless game. It's what makes the MLB all-star game a joke, IMO.
The Pro Bowl is a boring, meaningless game. Just make it a skills competition and perhaps I'd tune in.
