Mayock was probably one of the only few that graded him as undraftable. (on talent alone)
Now, whether Vontaze used that as motivation to be better is another story all together. We really don't know if he's going to sustain this or go back to being aloof with his career once he thinks he's made it. |
In the beginning of the draft talk (around January) he was a first round talent by a lot of scouts. I remember a lot of mock drafts coming out and he would always be penciled in for the ravens pick which was 30th including kipers. Now as the draft process went along he fell and kept falling. Cause of the combine, questions of work ethic and on the field questions (like the most flags in the NCAA for unsportmans like conduct). It will be interesting to see but it seems he got in shape and I'm sure the bengals are happy to have him.
