Making the flashy play every once in a while does not mean you are a solid starter. I think of Rob Jackson as Jarret Johnson from the Chargers. On the Ravens he looked good when he played, the Chargers then got him started him for the majority of his season and then you never hear from him again. Good teams have a lot of players like Rob Jackson.
Look at what happened to the defense without Orakpo before you start thinking about replacing him. Kerrigan was taken out and completely disappeared for a lot of games. Jenkins is coming along but still not sure what to expect from him especially with his knee. If you trade Orakpo there will be no pass rush, just like last year. The DLine and outside linebacker need to improve in terms of talent, not to trade away its most talented player. Redskins need to look at this position group as well as something they need to improve. If they do not then people will then blame the DB's for the fact QB's have 7 seconds to throw the ball. There were times last year where I felt the QB could hold the ball for as long as he wanted and the Skins still would not get him. I hope Orakpo comes healthy and plays to form, because if he doesn't, based on last year, it will be a long year for the DB's and the defense.
I dont know if you realize this, but Rob Jackson started 14 games and played the run and the pass better than Brian Orakpo. Only thing Orakpo did better was rush the passer. You never heard of Jarred Johnson in Baltimore either.
