Definitely one of the patriarchs and class acts of this league.

Definitely not a good moment. He was one of the last pioneers to make this league. He'll definitely be missed.

While watching sportscenter this morning, they said he tried to be an NFL owner but the NFL wouldn't allow it. He then owned a team from the AFL and was key in the merger of the AFL / NFL. Just goes to show you, never quit.

He was the father of the Super Bowl, and MLS. Not bad. Not bad at all.

I also give him credit for keeping the name of the Stadium as Arrow Head. I'm big on traditions like that.

VERY GOOD POINT!
I was so proud when the Skins called the new stadium (now fed ex) Jack Kent Cooke stadium, and a little piece of me died when they renamed it.

I think there are still a few stadiums that still don't have the corporate sponsors.

Arrowhead Stadium
Giants Stadium
Soldier Field
Super Dome
Lambeau Field
Browns Stadium

Giants and browns stadium is not original. Same with the Superdome. Lambeau, Arrowhead and Soldier field are classics.
Look at other stadiums...Fenway park, Wrigley field, the old Boston Garden, Madison Square garden...you think of these places, and nostalgia fills your heart. Nothing good enters your mind when you think "fed ex field". We need an identity. Bring back Jack Kent Cooke stadium!

What do you mean they aren't original?

They took no thought. Just named it after the team. The good ones are the ones that mean something, that have a history. There was a reason it was named, or dedicated to someone.

Don't get me wrong, it's better than Alliance field, or Petco Park etc etc, but they could have taken that one step farther and made it very original.

What if Phily named their stadium, Vince Papaly (sp?) stadium? All the fans would feel they went to a stadium that stood for perserverance, and guts. Just a thought.
